Should I be present at the home inspection?

Yes, because a person needs to be present for the day of inspection to allow entrance onto the property. With that being said, there could be a close friend or relative that could take your place. In this circumstance, you will need to leave their name with our company.

Are home inspections pass or fail?

An inspection isn’t intended to give your property a pass or fail grade. The purpose of an inspection is to provide you with a detailed report of problems and solutions for system failures within your home. If your inspection report includes an extensive list of repairs, it doesn’t mean you failed the inspection. This allows you to have an overview of the property and condition.

Why do I need a home inspection?

A residential home inspection can provide crucial information about your property before you purchase or sell it. Inspection reports can outline major system failures, as well as the overall condition of the home. No matter the age of your home or property, an inspection can give you peace of mind about the condition, value and performance of mechanical and structural systems within your property.

Do I have to sign the inspection agreement?

Yes, because the agreement is a contract between the inspection company and the customer. This contract will allow the company access to the property in order to perform the inspection.

Why can't I inspect the home myself?

Although many would think that performing their own inspection will be a cost -savvy option, it is not the best decision for the value and safety of your home. The licensed inspectors at Florida Lifestyle home inspection are specifically trained to determine the conditions and necessary repairs of residential property. It is important to note, most insurance companies require an inspection to be completed by a licensed inspector for home insurance purposes.

Are home inspectors a separate entity from insurance companies?

Yes, the inspection company is a separate entity that is hired by insurance agencies, property managers, homeowners, etc. Insurance agencies often refer home inspection companies in order to approve new policies for their clients.

Could I request for the inspection report to be sent to my insurance company?

Yes, we will have to receive your permission in order to share your inspection report with the insurance agency. At your request we will be able to send the report the same day as the inspection.

Can the home inspector fix any defects they find?

No, a home inspector's job does not entail fixing any defects found in the home. A home inspector is only able to build a report based on the defects and condition of the home.

Could I request my previous inspection reports in the future?

Of course, our company saves your inspection for 1 year post inspection. You can always reach out to us and have us email the report back to you.
